In the fight for survival of the species, maca survives due to strong organisms with adaptability and capacity of reproduction.

The Maca is one of the few edible plants that is adapted to the hardest climatic conditions in the Peruvian Andes,( between 14,100 to 14,500 ft. above sea level). This means Maca grows and reproduces at a greater altitude than any other cultivatable plants in extreme conditions. Maca resists frosts, hailstorms, droughts and winds. Maca is also resistant to the plagues and diseases that attack many cultivars, giving a lesson of strength, adaptability and resistance to the aggressions of the environment.
